A keyboardist and producer recognized by his peers for over 25 years, MOBIO is the fruit of a rich blend of languages, cultures and continents.
MOBIO began his musical career as a percussionist in a choir in his native Côte d'Ivoire, before discovering his passion for the piano. Since then, he has nurtured this talent, and his career as a keyboardist has gone from strength to strength.
MOBIO made a name for himself as soon as he arrived in Quebec. In 2002, he became Jean Leloup's regular keyboardist. He takes part in his Quebec tours and album recordings.
But his collaborations don't stop there. He has toured with renowned artists from different horizons, in Africa and Europe, as well as in North and South America (Tiken Jah, Chris Combette, Zal Sissokho, Wesli, among others).
These artistic synergies have enabled him not only to hone his craft, but also to explore and nurture his artistic identity. His experiences and their richness are now ready to be channeled into his solo singer-songwriter project.
Passport… a document that confirms my identity and my cultural nationalities.
Passport… a way to highlight the kaleidoscope of my life and what inspires me.
Passport… a calling card.
« Passport will be my first album as a solo artist. On this album, I intend to reveal myself completely, and for the first time, take the spotlight. This album will be dynamic in nature and inspired by the rhythms of world music.
Instead of any pre-defined musical genre, I will allow my musical influences to coalesce and create incredible new sounds. Rhythm is at the core of every one of my compositions as it is what transports us and allows us to connect and become one musically. Music is the great equalizer as the spirit of a song, an album, permits us all to be able to dance and sing from the heart.
Through Passport, my goal is for you to discover my rhythm and soul. »
Passport will be launched shortly.
His world is summed up by :
« Never try, never know »
After several years as an established musician, MOBIO turned to music production, following training in production from his mentor, Brian Quaye. This musical transition enabled him to produce or participate in album projects by local artists such as Jean Leloup, Zal Sissokho, Wesli, Chaki Adam and Carine au Micro, to name but a few. Steeped in multiple musical currents and styles, MOBIO pursues the realization of various projects for artists from all cultural horizons, from established artists to up-and-coming musicians.
Its main asset is to highlight the musical style best suited to each artist's potential, enabling them to realize, reveal and blossom musically.
